The Slohokej League was a multinational ice hockey league in which teams from Slovenia , Austria , Croatia and Serbia participated. The league was founded in 2009 after Croatian teams had also played in the Slovenian ice hockey league in previous years , in which the Slovenian ice hockey champions are determined.
The Slohokej League was a competition that - similar to the Alpine League and the Interliga around the turn of the millennium - played before the shortened national championship and determined its own master. Some of the clubs were farm teams from teams in the Austrian ice hockey league . At the Slovenian EBEL clubs, the teams of the Slohokej League and the EBEL were often combined to host the Slovenian championship.
The game was stopped in 2012 after the Slovenian Ice Hockey Federation terminated the contract with the operating company.
Some of the Slovenian clubs in the Slohokej League took part in the Inter-National League , founded in July 2012, in the following years . With the International Hockey League , a new league for teams from Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia was created in 2017.
