The HK Triglav ( Hokeyski club Triglav , often HK Triglav Kranj ) is a Slovenian ice hockey club from Kranj , who is currently in the Inter-National League plays.
history
The club was founded in 1968 and played for many years in the second level of Yugoslav ice hockey. In the 1970s the championship could be won several times, but mainly financial problems prevented promotion to the highest league in the country. At that time the club was still playing on natural ice, and the first artificial ice rink was not completed until 1981. After the 1985/86 season, when the second division could be won for the third time, a difficult time followed when financial problems again prevented promotion and a wave of important players emigrated. Only after Slovenia's independence did the situation stabilize. In the 1995/96 season , fourth place in the Slovenian ice hockey league achieved the best placement so far, which the club was able to repeat a year later.
In the 2006/07 season , the club also took part in Group B of the Interliga , a multinational ice hockey competition, and came in second after the regular season behind the HK Jesenice farm team . However, the team was eliminated in the semifinals against the previously worse placed KHL Mladost Zagreb .
The club's youth team won the Slovenian youth championship in the 2002/03 season.
