The HD Hidria Jesenice (until 2017 HD madli Jesenice) is a Slovenian ice hockey club from Jesenice . It was a youth club at HK Jesenice from 1999 to 2012 . Since 2014 it has been the youth club of the HDD Jesenice .

history

During the 1998/99 season , HK Jesenice had financial problems, which led its management to found its own club for youth work, the HD mladi Jesenice . mladi is the Slovenian word for young people. The HD mladi Jesenice took over the duties of the HK HIT Casino Kranjska Gora , which until then had been the farm team of the HK Jesenice.

In 2006 HK Jesenice was the first foreign club to be accepted into the Austrian Erste Bank Ice Hockey League . As a farm team, the HD mladi provided a team in the Slovenian ice hockey league between 2006 and 2010 . From 2009 HD mladi also played in the supranational Slohokej League . Due to financial problems, the first team of the HD mladi Jesenice was withdrawn from the Slohokej League at the end of January 2012 after the 25th matchday. All match results of the team have been canceled and the table has been cleaned up. At the end of the season, HK Jesenice went bankrupt.

In 2012/13 the HD mladi was the only team from Jesenice in the Slovenian ice hockey league. Team Jesenice , from August 2014 HDD Jesenice, was founded in 2013 as the successor to HK . The HD mladi took over the position of the youth club again and only provided youth teams. One of the club's teams has been playing in the Erste Bank Young Stars League (U20) since the 2012/13 season, and one in the Erste Bank Juniors League (U18) since 2013/14 .

In November 2017 a new main sponsor was introduced with Hidria doo and the club changed its official name to HD Hidria Jesenice . In the 2019/20 season , the club will also take part in the International Hockey League and the Slovenian Ice Hockey League .

Venue

The home of the club is the Športna dvorana Podmežakla in Jesenice , which seats 4,500 spectators.
