Super final

The Super Final of the Continental Cup took place from January 16 to 18, 2009. The venue of the tournament was the French Rouen . In addition to the already seeded representatives from France and Slovakia, the Dragons de Rouen and MHC Martin , HK Keramin Minsk from Belarus won the group D and HC Bozen from Italy won the group in the final qualifying round E, the remaining two places.

MHC Martin from Slovakia, who is competing internationally for the first time, was the favorite for the title early on. After victories in the first two tournament games, the host Dragons de Rouen had to win their game against Keramin Minsk in regular time so that the tournament was not decided before the last day. They achieved this through a strong final third, in which they scored four goals and turned the game in their favor. In the final tournament game there was a clash between Martin and Rouen. Despite a victory for the French, MHC Martin secured its first international title, as he had the best goal difference in a comparison of the three teams with the same points - HC Bozen had also won two games.

The six games in the 2,747 Île Lacroix attracted a total of 14,518 spectators. The host's three games were sold out.
