David Appel (born May 21, 1981 in Kuřim , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who last played in the 2013/14 season at EHC Freiburg in the ice hockey league as a striker .

Career

Appel first went through the youth teams of HC Kometa Brno , before he made his debut at HC Kometa Brno in the second-rate Czech first division in the 1997/98 season and came to a total of four missions during the season. After only one season he moved to the first-class extra league for HC Třinec . There he came in the 1999/2000 season on 18 missions and scored two points. In the coming season Appel was on the ice 35 times for HC Třinec, and 12 times for HC Ytong Brno from the first division . The 2001/02 season was a year of change for Appel. He started the season at HC Třinec, after 17 games he moved to league rivals HC Karlovy Vary for only eight games before he ended the season after only seven more appearances at HC Litvínov from the extra league .

The 2002/03 season he began with the second-rate SK Kadaň . In 25 games he scored 19 points, whereupon he moved to HC Havířov in the Extraliga during the season . Here he came on only eight missions and began the following season again with a new club, the HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi from the 1st Czech league. He stayed here the whole season and scored 26 points in a total of 48 games, whereupon he signed on with the extra division HC Dukla Jihlava for the 2004/05 season , but after only four games he moved to his home club HC Kometa Brno in the 1st Czech league, where he was very successful on the ice for the next few years until 2008. He was also entrusted with the office of A-Captain from 2004 to 2007. But still during the 2007/08 season Appel moved to league rivals HC Berounští Medvědi . For the 2008/09 season Martin changed again, but this time to MHC Martin in the Slovakian extra league .

He played the next year with great success in Slovakia until in July 2011 it was announced that Appel for SC Riessersee in the second hockey league after Germany changed. In his debut season, Appel was one of the top goalscorers straight away and with his goals played his part in keeping the Werdenfels relegated. At the beginning of March 2013, Appel prematurely ended his involvement with SC Riessersee because he was personally dissatisfied with his situation. In the 2013/14 season David Appel ran in the ice hockey major league for EHC Freiburg .
