The Sportovní klub Kadaň is a Czech ice hockey club from Kadaň , which plays in the second class first division .

history

The club was founded in 1945 as Tatran Kadaň and played only on a regional level until the 1980s. In 1971 the club, renamed Slovan Kadaň in the 1960s, merged with the DNT Tušimice club , which had also played its home games in the Zimní Stadium Kadaň, which was completed in 1970 . Between 1971 and 1991 this new club played as TJ DNT Kadaň in the regional class of Czechoslovakia and failed again and again to rise to the then third-class 2nd division.

1991 emerged from the TJ DNT Kadaň a pure ice hockey club, which is called SK Kadaň ever since and in 1998 rose to the first division of the Czech Republic.
