Petr Molnár (born February 9, 1969 in Most , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who played for HC Litvínov and the Dresdner Eislöwen on the position of defender between 1986 and 2005 .

Career

Petr Molnár began his career at CHZ Litvínov in 1986 when he was on the ice for his club in the first division for the first time . He was a member of the U18 junior squad at the U18 European Junior Championship in 1987 , scored three points in seven games and won the silver medal. During the 1988/89 season, Molnár was used at the VTJ Tábor before returning to his hometown club in 1989. Until 1998 he played almost exclusively at HC Chemopetrol Litvínov, with the exception of the 1991/92 season at Kometa Brno and four appearances at KLH Chomutov . During the 1998/99 season he was under contract with SK Kadaň before accepting a contract offer from Dresdner Eislöwen . In the following six years he played for the Eislöwen in the ice hockey league and in 2005 achieved promotion to the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga with the team . However, Molnár got no contract extension for the second division, so that moved to the Blue Lions Leipzig . After the 2005/06 season he ended his career.
