history
The association was founded in 1945 under the name "SK Stalinovy Zavody", renamed in 1954 to SZ Litvinov and in 1961 to CHZ Litvinov. CHZ stood for "Chemické závody" (Chemical Companies Litvínov). Between 1991 and 2007 the association carried the suffix Chemopetrol after one of the main sponsors. Today HC Litvínov is 71% owned by the Chemopetrol successor Unipetrol RPA , a subsidiary of the Czech Unipetrol Group.
