Miloslav Hořava began his career in the offspring of Poldi Kladno , for whom he played in the top division of Czechoslovakia, the 1st division , until 1983 . In 1981 the defender became Czechoslovakian champion with Poldi . In the same year he was selected in the ninth round of the Edmonton Oilers in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft in 176th place. In 1988 he received permission to move to non-communist countries. Since the New York Rangers had received the NHL rights to Hořava from the Edmonton Oilers, the Rangers took him under contract. For the Rangers, he completed 82 NHL games in three seasons before returning to Europe in 1991 and joining MODO Hockey from Sweden . In the following three years he played for MODO in the Elitserien .
In 1994 he decided to return to his homeland and played for HC Slavia Prague in the extra league for the next three years . Other stations in his long career were HC Becherovka Karlovy Vary , HKm Zvolen and HC Litvínov , where he ended his career at the end of the 1999/2000 season.
