history

In the early years, the club was able to win the Bohemian Ice Hockey Championship four times , and in 1929 and 1934 they also won the Tatra Cup , one of the most important ice hockey tournaments in the Czechoslovak Republic at the time .

Until the Second World War , the ice hockey department was called SK Slavia Praha , which all departments of the club until then had. In 1948 the club was renamed Sokol Slavia Prague . However, this name was only official for one year, as early as 1949 they competed under the name Dynamo Slavia . In 1953 the Slavia dropped out of the name, so that the club was officially called Dynamo Prague . Since 1965 the club has been called Slavia Prague again (1977–1993 Slavia IPS Prague , since 1993 HC Slavia Prague ).

In 2003 HC Slavia won the Czech championship for the first time . This success was repeated in 2008 with a win after 4: 3 games in the final against HC Energie Karlovy Vary . In the following season Slavia reached the playoff final again, but failed in this at HC Energie Karlovy Vary.

During the 2009/10 season Slavia only occupied middle table places and fell out of the playoff ranks in January 2010. Thereupon the management signed with Noah Clarke and Darcy Campbell two North American players in order to still reach the playoffs.

After an unsuccessful season as bottom of the table after the main round, the club had to start the second division in spring 2015 .
