Dominik Graňák (born June 11, 1983 in Havířov , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with Mountfield HK from the Czech extra league since May 2017 .
Career
Dominik Graňák began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Dukla Trenčín , in which he was active until 2001. He then moved to the youth department of the Czech first division club HC Sparta Prague , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 2002/03 season . In his rookie year , the defender made two assists in a total of 54 games and immediately became Czech champions with Slavia . In 2004 and 2006, the left-shot reached the final of the Extraliga with Slavia again, but had to admit defeat to opponents HC Hamé Zlín and HC Sparta Prague. In the summer of 2008, the Slovak was committed by Färjestad BK , for which he was the next two years in the Elitserien on the ice and with whom he was Swedish champion in the 2008/09 season . Then Graňák received a contract with their league rivals Rögle BK .
Between May 2010 and the end of the 2013/14 season Graňák was under contract with HK Dynamo Moscow from the Continental Hockey League and won the Gagarin Cup and the Russian championship with this in 2012 and 2013 .
From November 2014 Graňák played for Linköpings HC before he was signed by Friborg-Gottéron from the Swiss National League A in January 2015 . For Gottéron he was used in 19 games in which he collected 6 points scorer. He then returned to Sweden and was signed again by Rögle BK in June 2015.
Graňák has been playing for Mountfield HK from the Czech extra league since May 2017 .
International
For Slovakia, Graňák took part in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championship in 2001 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2003 . In the senior category, he was in Slovakia at the World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , when he was runner- up with Slovakia in 2015 and 2016 .
