The PSG Berani Zlín is a Czech ice hockey club from Zlín (formerly Gottwaldov), the highest on the 1993 flight of the country, the Extraliga participate, and in 2004 the first time the championship won.
Club history
In early 1929, an ice hockey club called SK Baťa Zlín was founded in Zlín. For a long time the club did not get beyond regional competitions. This only changed with the construction of an ice rink in 1957 . 1958 / 59 TJ Gottwaldov was promoted to the second league that he could win a surprise and thus into the first league rise. The last place in the premiere season, however, means relegation. The promotion succeeded in the 1962/63 season , in 1968 with sixth place the best result in the club's history was achieved. In the 1970s , TJ Gottwaldov was an "elevator crew". This only changed in 1980, when the club rose to the first division, which it has not had to leave since. In 1985 the team took third place, the greatest success up to that point.
Another highlight followed in the 1994/95 season , in the play-off final of the AC ZPS Zlín defeated HC Dadák Vsetín with 1: 3 games. In 1999 Zlín was again runner-up and subsequently belonged to the top clubs in the Czech Republic. In 2003/04 Zlín finished second after the preliminary round. In the play-off quarter-finals the team defeated HC Třinec , in the semi-finals the HC Lasselsberger Plzeň . In the final, HC Slavia Prague was waiting , which could still win the first game of the best-of-seven series. HC Hamé Zlín won the next four games and secured the championship for the first time in the club's history. The following season Zlín won the preliminary round, but lost 4-0 in the final against HC Moeller Pardubice . At the end of the 2013/14 season , the club won the second title ten years after its first championship win.
