The 2014/15 season was the 22nd regular staging of the highest Czech ice hockey league, the Tipsport Extraliga . The Czech champions were HC Verva Litvínov , who defeated HC Oceláři Třinec 4: 3 in the playoff final and thus won the club's first championship. In the relegation round between the first division and the extra division, the Piráti Chomutov from the second division prevailed and in the following season replaced HC Slavia Prague , which was relegated to the second division after 21 years of first class.

mode

In 52 games, all teams play against each other four times, each team has 26 home and 26 away games throughout the season. The teams in places 1 to 6 qualify directly for the play-offs, which are played in the best-of-seven mode. The teams in places 7 to 10 play off the other two playoff places in the best of five . The remaining four teams play a relegation round (play-out), the last two of which take part in the league relegation against the two semi-final winners of the first division .

As prescribed by the IIHF , new rules were also introduced in the Extraliga for the 2014/15 season, for example, the middle third of the playing field was reduced and so-called hybrid icing was introduced.

In the relegation round of the 2013/14 season between the 1st League and the Extraliga, the two participants from the second division - HC Olomouc and BK Mladá Boleslav - prevailed, replacing the Rytíři Kladno and Piráti Chomutov .
