Petr Čáslava (born September 3, 1979 in Pardubice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC ČSOB Pojišťovna Pardubice in the Tipsport Extraliga since April 2014 .
Career
Petr Čáslava began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Pardubice , for whose professional team he made his debut in the extra league in the 1997/98 season . In the following years, the defender came in parallel to the game operation with Pardubice in the extra league also in the second-class first division , in which he ran for HC Berounští Medvědi , HC Dukla Jihlava and HC Hradec Králové . His greatest successes with Pardubice were the runner-up in 2003 and 2007 and the championship title in the 2004/05 season .
In the summer of 2007, Čáslava accepted a contract offer from Severstal Tscherepowez from the Russian Super League , but left the club after only one year to return to his home club from Pardubice for one season. After the left shooter had started the 2009/10 season at Pardubice, he moved to Timrå IK from the Swedish Elitserien after 17 games , while Pardubice was champions at the end of the season. For the 2010/11 season , the Czech national player was signed by HK CSKA Moscow from the Continental Hockey League and played for CSKA until 2012.
In May 2012 he returned to Severstal and completed a further 105 KHL games for the club in the following two seasons, where he ran up as team captain in the 2013/14 season. After that same season, his contract expired and Čáslava returned to his hometown club, where he also took over the captaincy. At the same time he acted as an assistant coach for the U18 juniors of the HCPE.
International
For the Czech Republic , Čáslava took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 , as well as the World Championships in 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . He achieved his greatest success at international level with the 2010 world championship.
