BK Mladá Boleslav is a Czech ice hockey club from the Central Bohemian city ​​of Mladá Boleslav , which has been participating in the first division of the Czech Republic, the Tipsport Extraliga , again since 2014 .

history

BK Mladá Boleslav was founded in 1908 and is a founding member of the Czech Ice Hockey Federation . Mladá Boleslav played from 1936 to 1938 in the first division of what was then Czechoslovakia . After the Second World War , Mladá Boleslav played in the third and second Czechoslovak leagues. In the 1992/93 season, the team rose to the then independent third Czech league. The return to the second division only succeeded in the 2001/02 game year.

The club changed its name several times in its history. From 1927 he started as Mladoboleslavský SK and from 1948 as Sokol BK Mladá Boleslav. From 1966 the club was under the Škoda sponsoring company and played under the name Auto Škoda Boleslav. From 2000 the official name was HC Mladá Boleslav, in 2004 the club returned to the original name BK Mladá Boleslav.

Mladá Boleslav won the championship of the 1st league in the 2007/08 season and prevailed in the relegation to the Extraliga against HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi from Ústí nad Labem . The team from Mladá Boleslav was promoted to the extra league and played first class again after many decades. In the following season , however, she only finished last in the table, so she had to compete in the relegation. There she met again on the HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi, who had won the championship of the 1st division. The BK Mladá Boleslav prevailed 4-0 against the Lions and remained in the extra league.

In the 2009/10 season , BK Mladá Boleslav returned to the relegation and was able to prevail against KLH Chomutov with 4-1 wins. In the following season , despite two coach changes, the club finished last in the table in the main and relegation round, so that he had to compete in the relegation. There she met again on the HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi, who had won the championship of the 1st division. The BK Mladá Boleslav prevailed in a tight series with 4: 2 against the Lions and thus remained in the extra league.

In the 2011/12 season, the club again occupied the last place in the table in the main and relegation round and met in the league relegation to the Piráti Chomutov . Against the Piráti, the BK Mladá Boleslav lost after seven games 3: 4 and thus rose to the first division. Two years later you could celebrate the rise again.
