The 2005/06 season was the 13th regular staging of the first division , the second Czech ice hockey division . In the playoffs the HC Slovan Ústí nad Labem prevailed, who qualified for the Extraliga relegation , in which he failed to Vsetínská hokejová . The TJ Slovan Jindřichův Hradec rose to the 2nd division.

In the main round, each of the 14 teams played a total of 52 games. The eight best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs. The season ended prematurely for the teams in positions 9 to 12. The last two placed in the main round had to play in relegation to stay in the league. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, and one point for a draw and a defeat after overtime. No points were awarded for a defeat after normal time.
