The 2012/13 season was the 20th regular staging of the second highest Czech ice hockey league , the 1st česká hokejová league .

In 52 games of the main round, all teams play against each other four times, each team has 26 home and 26 away games. The teams in places 1 to 8 qualify for the playoffs, while the remaining six teams in the playouts play off the two participants in the relegation.
The playoffs are played in best-of-seven mode. The two semi-finalists qualify for relegation to participate in the extra league . The last two teams in the playouts play a league relegation against the three season winners of the 2nd division . The two best teams in the relegation qualify for the first division of the following season.
