The 1993/94 season was the first regular staging of the first division , the second Czech ice hockey division . In the playoffs, HC Zbrojovka Vsetín and HC Slavia Prague prevailed, both of which qualified for the Extraliga relegation , while HC Přerov was relegated to the 2nd division.

In the main round, each of the 14 teams played a total of 40 games. The four best-placed teams qualified directly for the second play-off round, while the teams in places five to twelve went into the play-offs in the first round. The last two placed had to compete against each other to stay in the league. Each team received two points for a win and one point for a draw. No points were awarded for a defeat after normal time.

In the first relegation round, the two winners of the respective 2nd league seasons met against each other.
