The 2017/18 season was the 25th regular staging of the second highest Czech ice hockey league , the 1st česká hokejová league . The champions of the league was HC Energie Karlovy Vary , who achieved promotion to the extra league in the league relegation. The runner-up Rytíři Kladno failed in the relegation for promotion to the extra league.
mode
In 52 games of the main round, all teams play against each other four times, each team has 26 home and 26 away games. The teams in places 1 to 8 qualify (without pre-play-offs as before) directly for the play-offs. The season is over for the remaining teams, as the league is to be topped up in the long term and no relegated team will be played off.
The playoffs are played in best-of-seven mode. The two victorious semi-finalists qualify for the relegation to participate in the extra league, the play-off final is not played. The finalist who is better placed in the main round will be the champion.
