The Czech Ice Hockey Federation (ČSLH) ( Czech: Český svaz ledního hokeje ) is the Czech sports association responsible for ice hockey . It was founded on November 15, 1908 as the Bohemian Ice Hockey Federation and is a founding member of the forerunner of the IIHF . From 1920 Czechoslovakia took over membership in the IIHF and from 1992 the Czech Republic.

Tournaments and leagues played

The three highest leagues in the Czech Republic emerged from the leagues of Czechoslovakia and began playing in 1993. In addition to regular game play in the 1st and 2nd leagues , the Czech Ice Hockey Association organizes the Czech Ice Hockey Cup Tipsport Hockey Cup and the Czech Hockey Games , which are part of the Euro Hockey Tour . The association also looks after the Czech national teams: the men 's, women's, U20, U18, U17 and U16 national teams. Since 1984, women's ice hockey has also been promoted by the association and regular league games have been carried out. In addition to the league system for men's teams from professional to amateur level, the Czech association operates several national junior leagues, which determine their masters according to age group.

2004 was Ice Hockey World Championship of Men in Prague and Ostrava played who supervised the Czech Association. A few days before the opening game, the Czech Hall of Fame was opened, which is located in the O₂ Arena and offers an overview of the history of the association and outstanding personalities. A total of 550,000 spectators were counted at the 56 games of the World Cup, which represents a new record number of visitors at the World Cup. Other tournaments organized by the Czech Association are the U20 World Championship in 1994 and 2002 , the U18 World Championship in 2005 and the U20 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 2008 .
