history

Until 2006, the French ice hockey was organized together with twelve other disciplines in the national ice sports association, the Fédération française des sports de glace . This association was one of the five founding members of the IIHF and had belonged to the organization since 1908. As part of the Division I World Cup in Amiens , the independent Fédération française de hockey sur glace was founded on April 29, 2006, which replaced the national ice sports federation as the French representative in the IIHF and is now supposed to take care of the development of French ice hockey in a more targeted manner.
