Savez hokeja na ledu Bosne i Hercegovine (Bosnian-Herzegovinian Ice Hockey Federation) is the national ice hockey federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina .

history

The association was admitted to the International Ice Hockey Federation on May 10, 2001 . The association is one of the IIHF full members. The current president is Haris Muhić.

The association mainly takes care of the implementation of the games of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian national ice hockey team . In addition, the association organizes games at club level, including in the Bosnian-Herzegovinian ice hockey league and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian ice hockey cup .

Division of the association

Three of the four league teams - HK Ilidža 2010 , HK Stari Grad and HK Sarajevo - decided in 2011 for several reasons to found their own association, the "HSFBIH", and their own league. This happened without HK Bosna , who planned to take part in the Total TV Hockey League instead. They criticized the work of the association, which they accused of favoring HK Bosna. All those responsible for the SLBIH are from HK Bosna and only members of this club are members of the U16 national team that took part in the BIHU tournament in Turkey in 2011 . Only HK Bosna is said to have been allowed to participate in the joint league with Macedonian, Bulgarian and Greek clubs. They also accused the association of not including HK Ilidža 2010. In addition, the SHLBIH was held responsible for a lack of financial transparency, especially with regard to the donations from the IIHF .

The newly founded association initially organized the 2011/12 season and the 2012 cup competition .

So far, the association has not been recognized by the IIHF, as there is already an existing and recognized national association.
