The Journal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology (JIMB) is a specialist journal in the field of technical microbiology and biotechnology published by the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology , founded in 1949 . The magazine first appeared in March 1986 as the Journal of Industrial Microbiology (JIM), the first editor-in-chief was George E. Pierce .
