Josef Loos (born March 13, 1888 in Prague , † February 15, 1955 ibid) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player and official.

Career

Josef Loos played bandy and soccer for SK Slavia Prague as a teenager . In 1909 he started Canadian ice hockey and in 1914 was appointed to the Bohemian national team, which took part in the 1914 European ice hockey championship. He won the gold medal. After the First World War he only took part in one other tournament: at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , he won the bronze medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Czechoslovak national team .

After his career ended in the 1920s, Loos acted as a functionary at Slavia Prague and also took on tasks in the Czechoslovak Ice Hockey Association . Between 1946 and 1948 he was President. During this time, the 1947 Ice Hockey World Championship was held in Prague, and Loos was instrumental in organizing it. Between 1945 and 1953 he was also a member of the directorate of the World Ice Hockey Federation and was temporarily its deputy president.
