The 2014/15 season of the Italian Ice Hockey Championship of Serie A began on 20 September 2014 and was the 81st regular hosting of the Italian Championship. After being renamed Elite.A in the preseason, Serie A got its old name back because it was merged with the second highest division, Serie A2 (INL) . Therefore, for the first time, there were twelve teams in the field. Master was after a final win against defending Ritten Sport for a fifth time in club history HC Asiago .

In the main round, the twelve teams played 22 games each. The league was then divided into two groups, with the teams in their group each meeting the other group participants twice and each having to compete once against an opponent from the other group. The six best-placed teams in the main round qualified for the master round , with the teams in places one to five qualified directly for the playoffs.

The last-placed club in the Master Round played against the top five of the second, weaker group (Playoff Round) in a best-of-three series for a place in the playoffs. For the last placed in the playoff round , the season was over. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
