The 1999/2000 season was the 66th season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . Champion was for the 16th time in the history of the HC Bozen .

mode

In the main round, each of the 15 teams played a total of 28 games. The top five teams in the main round qualified for Group A of the second phase of the season, whose participants all qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played off. The remaining ten teams were divided into groups B and C for the second phase of the season. The winners of groups B and C also qualified for the playoffs, while the teams in second place in groups B and C had to compete against each other in the playoff qualification. For the other teams, the season ended prematurely. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time. Each team received a third of their points from the main round as bonus points for the second phase of the season.
