The 1987/88 season was the 54th season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . Champion was for the tenth time in the history of the HC Bozen . The SV Ritten rose to the second division.
mode
In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The eight best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. The bottom of the table was relegated directly to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
