The 2000/01 season was the 67th season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . Asiago Hockey became champions for the first time in the club's history .

mode

In the main round, each of the nine teams played a total of 32 games. The four best-placed teams in the main round qualified for the final round, whose participants all qualified directly for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. The remaining five teams had to compete in the qualifying round, whose four best-placed teams also qualified for the playoffs. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time. Each team received a third of their points from the main round as bonus points for the second phase of the season.
