The 1931 season was the fifth season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . The Hockey Club Milano became champions for the fifth time in the club's history . It was carried out from February 6 to 9, 1931.

In the main round, the league was divided into two groups of three teams each. The first placed in both groups qualified for the championship finals. The two runners-up then met in the game for third place. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.

The elimination games and the game for third place were held in three periods of 15 minutes each, the final game each 20 minutes.
