The 1952/53 season was the 20th season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . Champion was the fourth time in the history of the club of HC Diavoli Rossoneri Milano .

In the main round, the league was divided into two groups of three teams each. The first placed in the two groups qualified for the final round, in which they met the two major Milanese clubs. The first place in the final round became champions. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
