The Hockey Club Varese (full name Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Hockey Club Varese ) is an Italian ice hockey club from Varese , which has participated in the Italian Hockey League since 2017 . Before that, he played for a long time in Serie A1 , Serie B and Serie C. He also took part in the Alpine League for several seasons . The home stadium, the PalAlbani, has a capacity of around 1,200.
history
The club was founded in 1977 and took part in the Italian championships until 2009.
In 1987 and 1989, the club won Serie A1 before winning Serie A2 in 1997 . In addition, the club won the IIHF Federation Cup in the 1995/96 season .
In the following years, AS Varese Hockey withdrew to Serie C, before unexpectedly announcing the cessation of the men's division in the summer of 2009 after a few years in Serie A2. As a result, the club only operated youth work up to Serie C, before returning to Serie B for the 2014/15 season.
