Patrick Nicholas Iannone (born February 9, 1982 in Fruitvale , British Columbia ) is a former Italian - Canadian ice hockey player . His father Dell Iannone was also an Italian international.

Career

Patrick Iannone began his career in the Western Hockey League with Kootenay Ice , where he went on the ice for two years. He then moved to the Tri-City Americans . In 2002 he signed a contract with the Regina Pats . In the 2003/04 season Iannone played for AS Varese Hockey and thus the first year in the Italian Serie A1 . After two years in Varese, he moved to Asiago Hockey for a year . In the summer of 2006 he signed a two-year contract with HC Milano Vipers . After the dissolution of this team and after his first call-up to the Italian national team , he moved to HC Pustertal in 2008 , before storming for HC Valpellice the following year . This was followed by the change within the league to SG Pontebba , before he returned to HC Pustertal for the 2012/13 season, where he ended his career.

International

For Italy , Patrick Iannone took part in the top division world championships in 2008 , 2010 and 2012, as well as division I of the 2009 , 2011 and 2013 world championships. At the 2013 World Cup, he not only rose again to the top division with the Italian team, but was also named best striker, most valuable player and member of the all-star team of Group A of Division I. He also represented Italy at the qualifying tournaments for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010 and in Sochi in 2014 .
