history

HC Valpellice was founded in 1934 in Torre Pellice by the students Giorgio and Giuseppe Cotta Morandini as the first ice hockey team in Piedmont . Initially, a frozen lake served as the venue, later the home games were played in the “Filatoio” ice palace. On the occasion of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, a new ice rink with 2,500 seats was built and the team has been playing since then.

In the 2008/09 season, the club came second in the second-rate Serie A2. The WSV Sterzing Broncos , who were eligible for promotion to Serie A , waived and HC Valpellice then moved up. In 2013 the team achieved the first national title in the club's history by winning the Coppa Italia . This success was repeated in 2016.

The HC Real Turin was from July 2010, the farm team of the HC Valpellice.

HC Valpellice was the only Serie A club that did not move to the newly founded Alps Hockey League in 2016 , instead they competed in Serie C with an amateur team in the 2016/17 season . In the 2018/19 season, no men's team will take part in matches.
