The sport Ghiaccio Pontebba (also Ice Hockey Aquile Friuli Venezia Giulia ) is an Italian ice hockey club from Pontebba that played in Serie A1 and thus the highest Italian professional league until the 2012/13 season .
history
The association was founded on December 22, 1986. After the team won the play-off finals of Serie B with 3: 1 games against HC Meran Junior, SG Pontebba rose to the top ice hockey division in 2006.
The team plays its home games in the Palaghiaccio Claudio Vuerich with a capacity of 2,000.
In 2013, after losing play-outs, the club was relegated to the second division, but later decided to switch to the Carinthian Eliteliga, the Carinthian Eliteliga, for financial reasons.
