Kimmo Eronen (born September 7, 1971 in Turku ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player .

Career

Kimmo Eronen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with Kiekko-67 , for whose professional team he was active from 1992 to 1996 in the I divisoona, the second Finnish division. In the 1995/96 season he also played three games for Ilves Tampere in the SM-liiga . The defender spent the 1996/97 season at Herning Blue Fox in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen and immediately became Danish champions with the team . He then returned to his hometown, where he ran from 1997 to 2002 for the SM-liiga participant TPS Turku . With TPS he won the Finnish championship title in the 1998/99 , 1999/2000 and 2000/01 seasons . In his first two seasons at TPS he also played on loan for the second division Hermes Kokkola and the SM-liiga competitor Lukko Rauma .

For the 2002/03 season Eronen moved to Västra Frölunda HC from the Elitserien . With the team he won the Swedish championship title straight away . After another year at Västra Frölunda, he played again for TPS Turku from 2004 to 2006. He then spent two years at SG Pontebba in the Italian A1 series . In the 2008/09 season , the left shooter was a regular at Jokerit Helsinki in the SM-liiga. He was also in a game for TuTo Hockey in the new Finnish second division, the Mestis , on the ice. For the 2009/10 season , the three-time Finnish champion firmly joined TuTo Hockey. He also played a single game as a loan player for his home club TPS Turku. He finished the season itself again in the Mestis at KooKoo . In spring 2011 Eronen last played in the II divisioona, the fourth Finnish division, for PaKa. Then he ended his career.
