Carter Vincent James Trevisani (born June 15, 1982 in Carlisle , Ontario ) is a former Italo - Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Thousand Islands Privateers in the Federal Hockey League .
Career
Carter Trevisani began his career as a hockey player with the Ohio State University team , but left it after only ten games at the beginning of the 2000/01 season to play in the Ontario Hockey League for the Ottawa 67’s for the next three years . With the Canadian capitals he won the 2001 J. Ross Robertson Cup as a champion of the OHL. In addition, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2001 in the eighth round as a total of 244th player by the Carolina Hurricanes , for which he however never played. In the summer of 2003, the defender moved to AS Varese Hockey in the Italian Serie A1 , for which he was on the ice for two years before running up for their league rivals HC Asiago in the 2005/06 season.
In the 2006/07 season Trevisani was at Södertälje SK in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan under contract, with which he achieved promotion to the Elitserien . He then returned to Italy, where he played for HC Milano Vipers for a year before moving to HC Pustertal in summer 2008 . From 2009 he played for HC Asiago . The following year he extended his contract in Asiago in early summer. However, the contract was terminated around mid-August, as Travisani decided to stay in his native Canada. His replacement in Asiago was the Slovenian international Sabahudin Kovačevič . In Canada, Trevisiani moved to the Akwesasne Warriors from his home province of Ontario , for whom he played in the Federal Hockey League . In 35 games in the FHL, the defender scored 50 points. In January 2011 he returned to Italy and signed a contract with HC Valpellice until the end of the season . After he failed with the Bulldogs in the playoff semi-finals against HC Pustertal, Trevisani returned to the FHL in March 2011 to the Akwesasne Warriors. In the playoff finals, the team won the series against the New York Aviators in four encounters and secured the Commissioner's Cup, the championship of the FHL. In October 2012 he was hired by league rivals Thousand Islands Privateers .
International
For Italy , Trevisani took part in the 2006 , 2007 and 2008 World Championships , as well as the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
