The Watertown Wolves are an American ice hockey team from Watertown , New York . The team was founded in 2010 as Thousand Islands Privateers in Alexandria Bay and was accepted into the Federal Hockey League for the 2010/11 season . In 2012 the company moved to Watertown and in 2014 it was renamed Watertown Wolves .

The Thousand Islands Privateers franchise was founded in early 2010 as one of the six founding members of the Federal Hockey League , in which they have been playing since the 2010/11 season.
The Thousand Islands Privateers played their home games in the 3,500-seat Bonnie Castle Recreation Center .
In 2012 the franchise moved to Watertown and was renamed Watertown Wolves in 2014 .
In the 2014/15 season the team won the championship for the first time the FHL. They repeated this success in the 2017/18 season .
