The 1992/93 season was the second regular staging of the transnational ice hockey competition of the Alpine League . It was held with a total of sixteen professional teams from Austria , Italy and Slovenia . The defending champion was HC Devils Milano , who lost their championship to the Italian HC Alleghe .

Participant field and mode

Of the twenty teams from the premier season , sixteen remained by the second year. Among the Austrian participants, the Wiener EV had voluntarily withdrawn into the second division of Austria, the National League , after the previous season and therefore no longer competed in the Alpine League. Of the three Slovenian participants, only HK Jesenice remained, while HK Olimpija Ljubljana and HK Bled did not participate. With the Italians, USG Zoldo was no longer there after the team had only won one of the eighteen games last year. HC Gherdëina was a new addition .

The division of the field of participants into two groups, which was carried out in the previous year, was thus omitted. The teams initially played a simple round-trip round, which resulted in a total of 30 games per team. The best four teams qualified for the playoffs, which were played as simple games. The winners of the semifinals played for the championship title, the two losers played a game for third place.
