David Delfino (born December 29, 1965 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is a former Italian - American ice hockey goalkeeper who played for the Kölner Haie in the German ice hockey league from 1984 to 1998 .

Career

David Delfino began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Massachusetts Lowell , for which he was active from 1984 to 1988 parallel to his studies in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The goalkeeper then signed a contract with SHC Fassa from the Italian A1 series , for whose professional team he stood between the posts from 1988 to 1992. He then played for five years for their league rivals HC Alleghe , with whom he was relegated to the second-rate Serie A2 in the 1995/96 season, in which he spent another year. However, he ended the 1996/97 season with the Italian first division club HC Meran . Most recently, the two-time Italian Olympic participant played for the Kölner Haie from the German Ice Hockey League in the 1997/98 season . He then ended his career at the age of 32.

International

For Italy Delfino took part in the B-World Cup in 1991 , as well as the A-World Cup in 1992 , 1993 , 1994 and 1997 . He was also in Italy's squad at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and 1994 in Lillehammer .
