Daniel Anthony Sullivan (born April 26, 1987 in Scarborough , Ontario ) is an Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Hamilton Steelhawks in the Canadian ACH since 2017. His brother Mike Sullivan is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Sullivan began his career with the Pickering Panthers junior team in his native Ontario . After graduating from high school, he went to Niagara University for four years and played for their university team, the Niagara Purple Eagles in the university league Atlantic Hockey . In 2009 he moved across the pond to Italy, where he was initially on the ice with SG Cortina for a year . After the team from Veneto had only finished last in the Seria A1 , the defensive player switched to league rivals SHC Fassa . But also with the team from the Trentino community of Canazei things went only marginally better: Both 2011 and 2012 Sullivan failed with the team in the playoff quarter-finals. So he moved on to Asiago Hockey , where the long-awaited success finally came in the first year and the Italian championship title was won. At the beginning of the following season he was able to win the Supercoppa with Asiaga . In 2015 he was able to win both titles again with the club. In 2016/17 he played with Asiago in the newly founded Alps Hockey League . He then returned to his Canadian homeland, where he played in the Allan Cup Hockey League with the Hamilton Steelhawks.

International

For the Azzurri , Sullivan first took part in Division I of the 2013 World Cup in Budapest in April 2013 , where the Italians were promoted to the top division. There he could not keep up with the Italians at the 2014 World Cup , so he played in Division I again in 2015 .
