Petr Sailer (born September 18, 1975 in Jindřichův Hradec , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who was under contract with HC České Budějovice in the Czech extra league for many years . Between 2012 and 2016 he was part of the sports management of HC České Budějovice.

Career

Petr Sailer learned to play ice hockey at the age of six in his hometown. At the age of fifteen he moved to the youth department of HC České Budějovice , with whose junior team he became Czech U18 champions in 1993. Subsequently, the attacker made his professional ice hockey debut for TJ Slovan Jindřichův Hradec from his hometown in the 1993/94 season , the first season of the Czech extra league. He then returned to HC České Budějovice for eight years before he was initially dismissed during the 2002/03 season and signed a week later with HC Slavia Prague . With the capital city, he won the Czech championship for the first time this season .

After winning the title with HC Slavia Prague, Sailer returned once more to České Budějovice, with whom he was relegated to the second-class first division in the 2003/04 season. Due to relegation, Sailer decided to move to the Bílí Tygři Liberec , which he left after eleven games and returned to his home club. With this he managed at the end of the 2004/05 season the direct return to the extra league and contributed a total of 30 points scorer. He also made a name for himself as a reliable penalty shooter.

At the beginning of the 2008/09 season , Sailer was loaned to HC Energie Karlovy Vary , with whom he was champion for the second time in his career. In the playoff final he beat his former club HC Slavia Prague with his new team. Before the 2009/10 season he returned to his home club HC České Budějovice.

In 2010 he returned to HC Energie Karlovy Vary, only to sign another contract with his home club a year later. He ended his career in 2012 and worked in the club's sports management until 2016.
