Roman Malek

Roman Malek (born October 3, 1951 in Bytów , Poland; † November 29, 2019 in Grudziądz ) was a Steyler missionary and emeritus sinologist .

He taught as a professor of religious studies at the theological faculty of the Philosophical-Theological University SVD St. Augustin and Sinology at the University of Bonn. Until 2012 he was editor-in-chief of the sinological magazine Monumenta Serica - Journal of Oriental Studies and editor of the Monumenta Serica Monograph Series as well as editor-in-chief of the bimonthly China Today .

Malek died on November 29, 2019.
