Valentin "Vilda" Loos (born April 13, 1895 in Prague ; † September 8, 1942 there ) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player . At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , he won the bronze medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Czechoslovak national team . Four years later he also took part in the Olympic ice hockey tournament of the Winter Games in Chamonix . He also won the European Championships twice with the Czechoslovaks .
Life
Valentin Loos' father František (1858–1911) was a butcher from Holešovice . He was the youngest of three children, his brother Josef Loos (1888–1955) was also an ice hockey player and later chairman of the Czechoslovak Ice Hockey Association. Valentin Loos later works as a bank clerk. In 1942 he died of a heart attack.
Career
Valentin Loos, like his brother Josef, started ice hockey at SK Slavia Prague . The two brothers played together in the national team at the 1920 Summer Olympics, which later became the first world championship, and won the bronze medal. He also represented his home country at the first Winter Olympics four years later. He also won the European Championships with the national team in 1922 and 1925 , as well as the EM silver medal in 1921 and 1926 and the bronze medal in 1923. In total, he completed 27 international matches, in which he scored 12 goals.
In addition to ice hockey, he was also active as a football player for SK Slavia Prague. He represented Czechoslovakia in football at the Allied Games in Paris in 1919 .
