Jan Srdínko (born February 22, 1974 in Benešov , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who won the Czech championship six times and the Slovak championship twice. Since the end of his career he has worked as a trainer.

Career

Srdínko began his career in 1994 with HC Dadák Vsetín in the extra league , but also completed some games for HC Kometa Brno in the second-class first division . In the 1997 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the ninth round in 241st place, but never played in North America. Instead, he stayed with HC Vsetín until 2001 and won a total of five championship titles with this club. Before the 2001/02 season he moved within the Extraliga to HC Sparta Prague , with whom he was again champion in 2002. In 2004 he moved to the Russian Super League for HK Sibir Novosibirsk . Just a year later he signed a contract with Leksands IF before he was signed by HC Slovan Bratislava in 2006 . In both 2007 and 2008 he was Slovak champion with Slovan before returning to the Czech Republic in summer 2008 to join HC Kladno in the Extraliga . In the further course of the season he played again for HC Slovan Bratislava in the extra league. He then ended his playing career and became a coach.

He is a member of the coaching staff of the Czech Ice Hockey Federation and was assistant coach at HC Slavia Prague for two months in the 2014/15 season . From 2015 he was back on the coaching staff of Slavia Prague. Since the 2020/21 season he has been the head coach of VHK ROBE Vsetín in the 1st division .
