Career

Tomáš Kucharčík began his career as a hockey player at ASD Dukla Jihlava , for whose professional team he was active in the top Czechoslovakian league from 1990 to 1993 . With his team, the attacker won the national championship in the 1990/91 season . He was then selected in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round as a total of 167th player from the Toronto Maple Leafs , for which he however never played. Instead, he ran from 1993 to 1995 for HC Škoda Plzeň in the Czech Extraliga , where he ended the 1993/94 season with Toronto's farm team , the St. John's Maple Leafs , in the American Hockey League .

During the 1995/96 season, Kucharčík moved to HC Slavia Prague , for which he played in the Extraliga until 2000. He then stood for a year for Ässät Pori and then for three years for HPK Hämeenlinna in the Finnish SM-liiga . After the left-handed shooter had started the 2004/05 season at HC Znojemští Orli in the Extraliga, he ended it at Leksands IF from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. With Leksands he was second division champion and then rose in the SuperAllsvenskan in the Elitserien . Instead of staying with the Northern Europeans, however, the former international went to Switzerland, where he stormed for HC Ambrì-Piotta and Forward Morges HC in National League A and National League B. However, he ended the season with Lukko Rauma in the SM-liiga.

In the 2006/07 season Kucharčík played for HK Nitra in the Slovak Extra League , and Vsetínská hokejová in the Czech Republic. The Czech ended the season at the WSV Sterzing Broncos in the A2 series, the second Italian division. After a brief engagement with HC Benešov in the third-class 2nd division, the 1999 World Champion was signed by the Wölfen Freiburg from the Oberliga . With the Breisgauer, the center immediately achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he scored six goals in a total of 49 games and provided 24 assists. In November 2009 he signed a contract with SV Kaltern ice hockey from the Italian A2 series .
