The 12th European Ice Hockey Championship for U18 juniors took place from March 31 to April 6, 1979 in Katowice and Tychy in Poland . The games of the B group were played from March 4 to 8, 1979 in Miercurea Ciuc in Romania . The C group played from March 1 to 6, 1979 in Sofia , Bulgaria .
