The 23rd European Ice Hockey Championship for U18 juniors took place in Sweden from April 4 to 11, 1990 . It was played in the towns of Örnsköldsvik , Sollefteå and Husum . The games of the B group were played from March 21 to 30, 1990 in Val Gardena in South Tyrol . The venue for the C group was Sofia , Bulgaria , from March 8th to 11th, 1990 .

The GDR junior team was able to return to the tournament scene after more than 20 years after the local competitive sport decision was repealed. In the course of the political changes, she no longer noticed the rise to the B group .
