Rolf Wanhainen (born February 9, 1972 in Danderyd ) is a former Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper and played for the Augsburg Panthers from 2005 to 2007 .

Career

The 1.75 m tall Wanhainen started his professional career in 1992 at the Stockholm suburb Huddinge IK , where he played until 1999. He then moved to Södertälje SK , where he had the most successful period of his career to date. In 2001 he was promoted to the Elitserien with Södertälje . His catch rate of 92.7 and an average goal against 1.76 were impressive this season.

Wanhainen is also an 18-time goalkeeper for the Swedish national ice hockey team and won the bronze medal with Sweden at the 2001 World Cup .

From 2005 to 2007 he was in the goal of the Augsburger Panther before he returned to Sweden due to a serious illness of his father. He therefore ended his career and took a job at Scania .
