The 10th European ice hockey championship for the U18 juniors took place from April 1 to 10, 1977 in Bremerhaven , Germany . The games of group B were played from March 30 to April 4, 1977 in Bilbao and San Sebastián in Spain .

Since an official U20 World Championship was held for the first time in the same year , the IIHF lowered the age limit for the European Junior Championship by one year. The continuous counting of the events was retained.

A group

Relegated Romania decided not to participate after the Vrancea earthquake in 1977 and was thus determined to be relegated.
