Roland Ramoser (born September 3, 1972 in Ritten ) is a former Italian ice hockey player who has played in the A1 series during his active career for HC Devils Milano , HC Bozen and Ritten Sport, among others .
Career
Roland Ramoser began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at SV Ritten , for whose professional team he made his Serie A1 debut in the 1989/90 season . In his rookie year , the attacker scored 25 goals and provided 16 assists in 32 games. He then played for one year each for the Olympiques de Hull in the QMJHL and the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League . When Kamloops won the Ed Chynoweth Cup and Memorial Cup double in the 1991/92 season , the winger only played twice. He then received a contract with HC Devils Milano in his Italian homeland, with which he became champions in 1993 and 1994 respectively . He was able to repeat this success in the 1994/95 season with HC Bozen , with which he also won the European Supercup in the same year.
After a year at HC Gherdëina , Ramoser received a contract with the Nuremberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League for the 1996/97 season . One and a half years each followed with their league rivals Kassel Huskies and again with the Ice Tigers. After a total of four years in Germany, the national player returned to his home club SV Ritten-Renon, where he was the top scorer in the league in 2001 with 69 points in 32 games. Since 2002 the right-handed shooter has been back on the ice for HC Bozen, where he has meanwhile acted as team captain. With the South Tyroleans he won the championship title twice (2008 and 2009), three times the Coppa Italia (2003, 2007 and 2009), and also three times the Supercoppa Italiana (2004, 2007 and 2008). At the beginning of August 2010 he moved to his hometown club Ritten Sport. After Ramoser failed with the Ritten in the 2010/11 season in the quarter-finals of the playoffs against HC Valpellice , he announced the end of his playing career a few days later at a press conference.
International
For the Italian offspring, Ramoser took part in the U18 B European Championships in 1989 and 1990 , when he was voted the best striker of the tournament as a top scorer and top scorer, as well as in the Junior C World Championship in 1992 , when he was named the best striker of the Tournament contributed significantly to the rise of the Italian U20s in the B group.
Mi of Italian men's selection he played at the A World Championships in 1994 , 1995 , 1996 , 1997 , 1998 , 1999 and 2000 . After switching to the current division system, he participated in the 2001 , 2002 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 World Championships in the top division and at the 2003 , 2004 , 2005 and 2009 World Championships when he was the top scorer (together with his compatriot Trevor Johnson ), top scorer (together with the Dutchman Jamie Schaafsma ) and member of the All-Star-Team contributed significantly to the promotion to the top division, in Division I. He was also in Italy's squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and 1998 in Nagano and the qualifying tournaments for the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City and 2010 in Vancouver .
